In a night that will be remembered for years, Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, better known as davido/">Davido, turned the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan into a sea of music, lights, and pure emotion.

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, the Oyo State capital came alive as the multiple award-winning artist delivered a breathtaking two-hour performance before a massive, sold-out crowd.

The concert formed part of the Nigerian leg of his global ‘5ive Tour’, which had earlier thrilled audiences in Uyo, Yola, and Enugu.

“Performing at home is always special to me,” Davido had said before the show — and his words came to life that night.

An Electrifying Night of Homecoming

Organised in collaboration with the Oyo State Government through the Agency for Youth Development, the Ibadan show felt like a reunion between Davido and his Nigerian roots.

From the opening beat to the last encore, the superstar commanded the stage with hits like “Aye,” “Unavailable,” “Feel,” “Holy Ground,” “FIA,” and “Omo Baba Olowo.”

The air throbbed with energy as thousands of fans sang every lyric back at him, waving their phones like stars under the Ibadan sky.

Adding to the thrill were surprise appearances by Mayorkun and B-Red, whose joint performances sent the crowd into wild celebration.

Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo and Ademola Adeleke of Osun States were also present, lending a touch of political warmth to the night’s cultural spectacle.

With Ibadan’s show done, Davido’s ‘5ive Tour’ will wrap up in Lagos on December 25 — a finale many fans already describe as the “Christmas gift Afrobeats deserves.”
