Microsoft has finally made the Windows 11 25H2 update available to every eligible PC, marking the company’s second major system refresh of 2025.
The update—also called Windows 11 2025 Update—began rolling out in waves weeks ago, but the company now confirms it’s open to all users who enable “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available.”
Those who haven’t received it can manually check via Settings > Windows Update.
Despite being a milestone release, version 25H2 feels modest. Its biggest change is the quiet removal of several legacy features, including older networking tools and deprecated apps, while most visual and functional elements remain unchanged.
For everyday users, it’s a stability-focused update—mainly bug fixes, small refinements, and performance improvements that prepare Windows for bigger AI-powered integrations expected in 2026.
Microsoft says unmanaged Windows 11 Home and Pro devices will get the update automatically, though users can delay installation.
Tech analysts note that 25H2’s conservative design underscores Microsoft’s gradual shift toward “Windows as a continuous platform” rather than yearly reinventions.
Should you still install it? Definitely. Even without a new flash, it’s an essential patch for security and compatibility.
