President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate construction of new student hostels and a major road project for the Nigerian Law School in Abuja.
The directive was delivered through the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, who will oversee the projects under emergency approval.
According to Wike’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, two hostels of 300-capacity each will be built at the Law School. “One will serve female students and the other will house male students,” he confirmed.
Tinubu also instructed the construction of a new road linking the Body of Benchers’ Secretariat at Jabi District with Nile University.
The road, once completed, will help decongest traffic around the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). That corridor currently suffers heavy traffic jams, especially during peak hours.
The initiative is part of the government’s wider push to improve facilities that support the legal profession and student welfare in the FCT.
Law students in the Abuja campus have reportedly long suffered poor accommodation, overcrowding, and inadequate facilities.
