Umueri Community Declares Full Support for Soludo’s Second Term

As the November 8 Anambra governorship election draws closer, Umueri community in Anambra-East has declared “100% support” for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s re-election bid.

The declaration came during a grand reception at Ama-Umueri on Thursday. All three political wards gathered, chanting that “Umueri is APGA” and that Soludo would get their total votes.

Ambassador Dr. John Metchie, President-General of Umueri General Assembly, said: “We are behind Soludo because he loves us. He has approved the Ifite-Umueri–Chinua Achebe Airport Road. Umueri is 100% Soludo.”

Anambra-East council chairman, Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Chinweze, hailed the governor’s work on Umueri General Hospital and rural roads. He added: “The reward for good work is more work. Soludo’s eight years in office is already a done deal.”

Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Patricia Igwebuike, also from Umueri, described the event as a celebration of Soludo’s “giant strides in development.” She said the community had passed a unanimous vote of confidence.

Barr. A. A. Anizor, President-General of Umuoba-Anam, declared: “There is no other party here but APGA. Soludo’s victory is already a concluded matter.”

Traditional ruler of Umueri, HRH Igwe Sir Bennett Izuchukwu Emeka (Okebo II), thanked the governor for approving the construction of the airport link road, which he called “very strategic for our people.”

Governor Soludo, visibly moved by the massive turnout, thanked Umueri for what he called “a memorable reception.” He told the crowd: “In Anambra, there is only APGA.”

He noted that although Chinua Achebe Airport is located in Umueri, travellers still accessed it through another local government because no direct road linked the host community.

“We will scope the road, cost it, and start work immediately,” he assured, as thunderous cheers filled the air.
