The Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge (SAN), has laid the foundation stone of the Asaba Heritage Museum. The ceremony, held at the Permanent Palace grounds, is the beginning of rebranding Asaba into a modern cultural megacity.
The monarch described the museum as a symbol of unity and vision. “Today, by the grace of God and thanks to our son, Ogbueshi Tony Ndah… we are laying its foundation,” he said.
The museum project is fully funded by philanthropist Ogbueshi Tony Ndah and his foundation. It is valued at ₦400 million, with half of the funds already secured.
“He has not only promised but made available the money for the building,” the Asagba confirmed. Completion is expected by December 2025.
The Asagba praised the communal spirit behind the initiative. “Government cannot do everything for us… this is a clear example and testimony,” he said.
The museum is part of a larger palace complex. Complementary structures will be ready by October 2026, in time for the monarch’s second coronation anniversary.
Another Asaba son, Emma Odiaka, pledged to build a Palace Library. Corporate bodies have also promised support for a pavilion and other facilities.
The Asagba’s vision includes a palace that reflects Asaba’s rich heritage and future ambition.
