Liverpool’s Mo Salah Wins Record Third PFA Player of the Year

Mohamed Salah has written his name in gold again. The Liverpool forward has won the PFA Men’s Player of the Year award for a record third time.

He scored 29 goals and delivered 18 assists as Arne Slot’s Reds lifted the Premier League trophy last season.

The Egyptian star dominated the votes, becoming the first player to win the award three times, in 2017/18, 2021/22 and this last season.

Salah’s journey from Nagrig, Egypt, to global stardom is nothing short of inspiring.

“Of course I wanted to be a football player and I wanted to be famous and provide for my family,” he said.

“But you don’t think about the big stuff when you are still in Egypt.”

“When you grow, you start to see things differently and you start to have ambition and you start to see the bigger picture.”

Earlier this year, he also picked up his third Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award.

His consistency and brilliance on the pitch have made him a symbol of excellence in world football.

Liverpool Stars Shine in PFA Team of the Year

Salah wasn’t alone in the spotlight. Four Liverpool players made the PFA Team of the Year.

Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and new signing Milos Kerkez joined Salah in the elite XI.

Arsenal’s William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Declan Rice also made the cut.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes missed out, despite being shortlisted.
