Comfort Emmanson Tells Her Side of Ibom Air Wig Fight

Miss Comfort Emmanson, the young woman at the center of the Ibom Air altercation, has spoken in her own words.

She narrated on Instagram that the incident began during pre-flight checks when she struggled to switch off one of her phones. According to her, the matter later escalated into a violent confrontation after the plane landed in Lagos.

“On August 10, I boarded a flight from Uyo to Lagos… the hostess Juliana asked me to switch off my phones. One button was bad. A fellow passenger helped me with the first. I struggled with the second. Before she left, she told me, ‘you will see’.”

Emmanson said she did not take those words seriously until later.

“She Dragged My Wig, Cut My Chain”

The real drama, she claimed, happened after arrival.

“When we got to Lagos, I waited to use the bathroom. After, I picked my bag to leave but she blocked my way. I brought out my phone to record. She noticed and dragged me inside, pulled off my frontal wig, cut my gold chain, tore my clothes and my phones fell to the floor and broke.”

She said the flight attendant also insulted her. “She called me a prostitute. The pain was too much. That was why I poked her, asking why she would do that to me.”

Videos of the confrontation later surfaced online, showing a struggle inside the plane. Emmanson insists the clips do not show the full story.

“They Wounded Me, They Mocked Me”

Emmanson alleged that other crew members joined in, leaving her bruised.

“She dragged my top in a way that even wounded me inside. I was surrounded by all of them. I struggled to defend myself. That was what they recorded and put out there.”

She said the incident has left her traumatised. “My private images are everywhere. People now send me messages mocking me. Some even made stickers of my body. I am into real estate. Imagine going to advertise a property and the client looks at me differently.”

She added: “Right now, I don’t know how to face a job interview. What about my future children or my husband? What will they say about my reputation?”

“I Never Refused to Switch Off My Phone”

The young woman denied allegations that she disobeyed flight safety rules.

“I never refused to switch off my phone. People who know me know I am not a troublesome person. I am not even a social media person. I just want people to know my side of the story.”

The airline is yet to release a detailed statement on the case.
