Veteran entertainer and activist Charly Boy has visited the newly renamed Olamide Baddo Bus Stop in Lagos — a location that once bore his name.
The Area Fada posted a video of the visit on Instagram. He appeared amused, not angry, as he spoke from inside his car.
“My people, U can already guess where your Area Fada dey? Olamide Baddo Bus Stop! Yes o, na the same bus stop wey una sabi since… now na Baddo get am,” he said with a grin.
“Street na street, e no get age limit, abi? I just dey inside car dey laugh yeye people wey wan show Fada power.”
From Bus Stops to ‘Comedy Central’
Charly Boy joked about how easily names change in Nigeria. “Next thing, dem go name airport after one DJ, then call National Assembly ‘Comedy Central’. Yeye dey smell.”
The bus stop, located along a busy transport corridor in Lagos, has served as a landmark for years. It was renamed after rap star Olamide Adedeji, known as Olamide Baddo, who grew up in Bariga.
The Lagos State Government has not issued any official reason for the change, but locals say it reflects Olamide’s influence on youth culture.
Life Is Too Short for Vexing Over Bus Stops
“For me? I still go dey fresh, I still dey cruise, and I still no send anybody wey no like am,” Charly Boy added.
He told fans there are bigger issues to focus on. “Life too short to dey vex for bus stop name change, when I never chop. Dia Father’s.”
