🔥El-Rufai Warns of Disunity if Nigerians Allow APC Rule Beyond 2027

Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, says he sees danger to Nigeria’s unity if President Bola Tinubu and his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) continue in office beyond 2027.

Instead, he wants Nigerians to rally behind the opposition and vote out the incumbent.

In his words, “We are at a critical juncture in our nation’s history, and it’s imperative that we take collective action to rescue Nigeria from poor governance and failed leadership.”

He was speaking on Saturday during a tour of Sokoto State, where he met with political stakeholders, youth groups, and women as part of a nationwide grassroots mobilisation.

⚠️ “If we allow this APC government another term, what remains of Nigeria’s social fabric may be destroyed. This is the fight of our lives,” El-Rufai warned.

The former governor didn’t mince words, branding the APC as “incompetent and clannish.” He argued that their continued grip on power could endanger Nigeria’s unity and development.

“I didn’t get into politics to enrich myself but to serve. And when a government ceases to serve the people, it is my duty as a senior citizen to not only speak out but take action to reverse the situation.”

A Strategic Coalition for 2027

El-Rufai noted that his decision to align with the opposition coalition wasn’t for personal benefit but for the country’s future.

He commended the choice of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the coalition’s political platform, calling it “a credible alternative that prioritises national interest over personal ambition.”

He also stressed the importance of uniting Nigerians behind this single party, rather than splitting votes across multiple opposition platforms.

“This is not about me or any one individual. It is about restoring dignity to governance and giving hope to millions of Nigerians,” he added.

Could this opposition coalition be the long-awaited change Nigerians have hoped for?

Opposition Leaders Echo the Call 📣

Abubakar Gada, a prominent political leader in Sokoto, backed El-Rufai’s position.

He reassured citizens of the coalition’s dedication to providing transparent and competent leadership both at the state and federal levels.

Gada said the ADC-led front is open to “every patriotic Nigerian who believes that this country can be better and who is ready to make it happen.”
