Soludo at 65: Anambra First Lady Shares Heartfelt Message to Her Husband

Anambra State First Lady, Nonye Soludo, has celebrated her husband, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, with a moving birthday tribute as he turned 65 on Monday, July 28.

Soludo, who served as the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was born in 1960—the very year Nigeria gained independence. A renowned professor of economics, he came into office as Anambra governor following his victory in the 2021 elections.

His wife and partner of three decades, Nonye, poured her heart into a loving message to honour the man she calls her king.

“Today’s for you, my love, my guy and my King,” she wrote.

“Today is a special day. It’s your birthday! Everything that this day represents is a celebration of your greatness, purpose, and legacy.”

“Enjoy this fresh chapter of victory, grace and fulfilment. Happy birthday, Mr. Governor. The children and I are super proud of you. Go forth and raise more bars. Love you ❤️”

The message, laced with affection, came with a tone of admiration for Soludo’s journey as a public servant, family man, and visionary leader.

A Steady Rock Behind the Governor

Mrs. Soludo, known for her modest disposition and advocacy for healthy living, has quietly become a pillar in the governor’s life and leadership. For many in Anambra, she embodies quiet strength, playing her role without drawing unnecessary attention.

Through the highs and lows of Soludo’s career—from economic boardrooms in Abuja to the politics of Awka—Nonye has stood firmly beside him, offering what some close to the family describe as calm guidance and unwavering support.

Her words on his birthday reflect not just love but an insider’s appreciation of a man many believe is reshaping the story of governance in Anambra State.

Leadership and Legacy in View of 2025

At 65, Soludo stands at a key moment in his political journey. His administration, according to both supporters and critics, has made strides in infrastructure renewal—roads, flyovers, and drainage systems—particularly in the urban areas of Onitsha, Awka, and Nnewi.

He has also spoken publicly about instilling what he terms a “new value system” in Anambra, urging a break from the culture of consumerism and flamboyance that has become entrenched in the state’s urban society.

With the governorship election scheduled for November 2025, many in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) believe Soludo is on track for a resounding second-term win. His supporters describe the opposition as “not serious contenders.”

Whether this optimism will translate into votes remains to be seen. But for now, Soludo’s birthday offers a brief moment of personal celebration—one anchored in family, shaped by legacy, and watched closely by Nigeria’s elite political class.
