Jumia Appoints Temidayo Ojo as New CEO of Jumia Nigeria

Jumia Nigeria has appointed Temidayo Ojo as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Sunil Natraj. The appointment is a strategic shift to focus on strengthening local leadership and deepening market relevance.

Ojo joined Jumia in 2020 as Head of Planning and Performance. He quickly rose to Chief Commercial Officer in Nigeria and later became CEO of Jumia Ghana. His tenure in Ghana was credited with record-breaking growth and a stronger company culture.

“I am deeply honoured to lead Jumia Nigeria. As someone who grew up here, I understand our people, our challenges, and our potential,” Ojo said.

Ojo’s appointment comes nearly five years after the exit of Juliet Anammah, Jumia Nigeria’s pioneering CEO. His return signals renewed confidence in homegrown talent and a deeper understanding of Nigeria’s e-commerce terrain.

He holds an MBA in Finance, Strategy & Consulting from IESE Business School in Spain and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos.

Group CEO Francis Dufay praised the move: “His energy, values, and business acumen make him the right person to lead Jumia Nigeria into its next chapter.”

Ojo has outlined his priorities: expanding into secondary cities, improving customer experience, and strengthening the seller ecosystem. He confirmed there are “no plans to cut jobs,” and described the workforce as “one of our strongest assets”.

Seleem Musibau will take over as CEO of Jumia Ghana, ensuring continuity in leadership across West Africa.
