MicNet to Launch First South East E-Commerce Plus Platform in Sept

MicNet Concept International has unveiled plans to launch E-commerce Plus, the South East’s first regional digital marketplace, this September.

The announcement was made by the firm’s CEO, Mr. Mike Neboh, during a press briefing in Awka over the weekend.

Neboh said the platform will go live officially on September 4 during the 2nd South-East World-Class Digital Summit (SE-WCDS) in Imo State.

He described E-commerce Plus as a game-changer for regional trade and digital inclusion in the eastern part of Nigeria.

₦54 Billion in Regional Revenue Projected

According to him, the platform will offer “a trusted space for connecting consumers and businesses,” while also bridging the gap between affordability and quality.

Neboh said it would support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and help households access essential goods during economic hardship.

He added, “Through collaborative partnerships with each southeastern state, E-commerce Plus aims to generate an annual revenue of over ₦54 billion.”

MicNet projects that the digital marketplace will significantly boost the GDP and trade power of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states.

He encouraged “residents, innovators, business owners and corporate organisations in the South East to register on the platform, to maximise its reach and impact.”

SMEDAN and Imo Govt Back Platform for SMEs

Mrs. Gloria Nwakamma, Zonal Coordinator of SMEDAN, said that “access to market is a major challenge of SMEs,” which is why the agency is backing the project.

Represented by the Anambra State SMEDAN Manager, Mrs. Chito Onuzulike, she explained that E-commerce Plus would solve a long-standing problem for entrepreneurs in the region.

Dr. Chimezie Amadi, Imo Commissioner for Digital Economy and E-Government, also threw his weight behind the project.

Represented by Mr. Chibuike Mebrim of Imo Digital City, he said “Imo State is committed to the digitalisation of all sectors,” and welcomes platforms that deepen digital access.
