Osimhen, Thanks Christ Embassy, Prepares for Transfer Move

Victor Osimhen, Nigeria’s top striker, praised Christ Embassy and Pastor Chris Oyakhilome for supporting him during tough times. He revealed a period when he stopped playing football to help his struggling family.

“I stopped playing football for two years after finishing secondary school because my family needed money,” Osimhen said. “I started working at Christ Embassy Church, directly under Pastor Chris.”

He added that he worked alongside about 15 peers distributing the church’s devotional booklet. “We were paid good money. I met new people, made friends, and the work brought in good money at the time,” he said.

During that period, Osimhen lived at the church for five months. “Pastor Chris is a kind-hearted man. He prayed for us, fed us, and provided housing,” he shared. He would go home only on weekends.

He wants Nigerians to recognise the positive impact of churches in society. “I support Christ Embassy today financially because I know what they do for our community. They help a lot of people, but we hardly see it on the news,” he said. He noted that churches have built schools, hospitals, and community water projects.

Transfer Rumours: Premier League & Europe Knock

Off the pitch, Osimhen is attracting offers from top clubs. Liverpool made a formal bid that included cash and two players in a swap deal. Reports say he rejected a ₤650,000-a-week offer from Al‑Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Manchester United may make him their Plan B if they miss out on another striker. Clubs like Chelsea, Juventus, Paris Saint‑Germain, and Barcelona are reportedly interested. PSG has held talks, while Juventus may drop interest if they sign Jonathan David.

Osimhen enjoyed a stellar loan at Galatasaray, scoring 26 league goals and winning a domestic double. His performances earned admiration across Europe and fueled interest from several top clubs.

With his loan ending on June 30, Osimhen must decide his future soon. His release clause sits around €75 million or possibly higher.

“He wants to finish the season at Galatasaray,” an insider said. “I will leave a small percentage for Galatasaray to try to buy him.”
