Senator Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia North has said he is prepared to give his life to ensure the All Progressives Congress (APC) wins the 2027 elections.
The former governor made this statement at his residence in Igbere, Abia State, while speaking to journalists. According to him, the APC remains strong in the South-East, and he is ready to work with other loyal members to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu and the party.
Kalu said the president’s performance in office so far has given Nigerians many reasons to support him.
“APC is strong in Abia. Like I said in my interview, I am ready to lay down my life for the party. I am a member of the party and a strong one at that. I am APC to the core. That’s why APC is strong in Abia North,” he declared.
Support for Tinubu and Economic Recovery
He stated that APC leaders in the state are already working towards mobilising grassroots support. According to him, the party succeeded in previous elections in Abia and is capable of repeating that success in 2027.
“Our party will work hard to deliver the President in the state. We have done it in the past, and we will do it again in 2027,” Kalu said.
Kalu also gave his opinion on the state of the economy. He said President Tinubu is working hard behind the scenes to restore the strength of the naira. He urged Nigerians to be patient, stating that the reforms being introduced will take time to produce results.
“The economy needs time to bounce back. The President is working to ensure that the economy bounces back,” he explained.
In recent months, the naira has gained some ground against the US dollar in both the official and parallel markets. However, food prices and inflation still remain a major concern across Nigeria.
Many citizens are hoping that Tinubu’s policies will bring long-term relief, especially to ordinary families and businesses, but the wait has been excruciatingly long.
