President Bola Tinubu has appointed new members to the governing councils of several federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across Nigeria.
The latest appointments come just hours after Tinubu approved similar nominations for the University of Abuja, the University of Nigeria, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
A statement from Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, listed the newly appointed council members.
Several universities, including the Federal University of Technology in Ikot-Abasi and Babura, received appointments. Other institutions benefiting include Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi, the University of Jos, and Federal University, Dutse.
Among the key appointees are Hon. Chidi Nwogu for African Aviation and Aerospace University and Dr. Folashade Mulikat Kareem for the University of Jos.
Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Also Get Governing Council Members
Federal polytechnics, including those in Offa, Daura, and Oko, received new representatives. Several colleges of education, such as those in Gwoza, Omoku, and Pankshin, were also included.
Hon. Bawa Bwari was appointed to Nigeria Arabic Language Village, Borno State, while Hon. Usman Balkore joined the Federal College of Education in Ekiadolor, Edo State.
The presidential directive confirms that all appointments are effective immediately. Institutions are expected to integrate their new members into governance processes.
