Pop icon Katy Perry has made headlines by returning to Van Horn, Texas, after completing an eight-minute space flight.
Katy and five other colleagues returned from space on April 14, 2025, after a historic journey. They travelled aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard spacecraft, reaching 100km above Earth and crossing the Karman line, the boundary of space.
The crew included:

The journey lasted around 10-11 minutes, during which they experienced weightlessness. Upon returning, Katy Perry shared her emotional reaction, saying she felt “super connected to love” and kissed the ground to celebrate her return to Earth.

The journey is a significant milestone in commercial space travel, with Perry becoming one of the few celebrities to venture beyond Earth’s atmosphere.
Her space adventure was part of a growing trend of private spaceflights, offering civilians the opportunity to experience space travel. Upon landing, Perry expressed her exhilaration, stating, “It was the most incredible experience of my life. Seeing Earth from space changes your perspective entirely.”
The singer’s spaceflight coincided with a vibrant week in the entertainment world, including star-studded events like Coachella in Indio, California, featuring performances from artists such as Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, Cardi B, Post Malone, Trixie Mattel, Lisa, and Queen Latifah.
