Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is stepping into the world of cinema. The Portuguese star, currently playing for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, has teamed up with renowned filmmaker Matthew Vaughn to launch UR MARV, an independent film studio.

The collaboration sees Ronaldo, 40, partnering with Vaughn, 54, known for directing hit films like Snatch and Layer Cake.

A statement posted on Ronaldo’s X (formerly Twitter) account described the joint venture:

“Cristiano Ronaldo loves movies; Matthew Vaughn loves sport—and they both love a good story.”

The studio aims to blend cutting-edge technology with classic storytelling techniques, promising innovative productions for global audiences.

Vaughn expressed admiration for Ronaldo’s legendary career and believes his transition into entertainment will be significant.

“Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring movies with him—he’s a real-life superhero,” said Vaughn.

Although still active on the football field, Ronaldo’s latest business move showcases his expanding interests beyond sports.

While details on UR MARV’s first projects remain undisclosed, the announcement is already exciting Ronaldo’s loyal fans and film enthusiasts alike.
