Music rivals Portable and Speed Darlington have agreed to settle their differences in a boxing ring on April 18 in Lagos.
The boxing match will take place at the Balmoral Convention Centre on Victoria Island. Fans are eager to see the two entertainers clash in what promises to be a heated bout.
A Dispute Over Performance Fees
The tension between the two musicians started after Speed Darlington invited Portable to perform at his upcoming show. He reportedly offered the “Za Zu” crooner ₦500,000, but Portable turned down the offer and ridiculed him.
“You are inviting me to a show, and you don’t have money. You are using my name to promote your show. I charge ₦20 million, ask around,” Portable said during a podcast appearance.
The singer also added, “You’re offering me ₦500k, for what? I don’t want to be friends with poor people. I don’t know his that poor.“
Speed Darlington, known for his eccentric personality, did not take the comments lightly. He responded by challenging Portable to a boxing match, which both have now agreed to.
