Popular Nigerian media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, famously known as Daddy Freeze, has questioned the authenticity of miracles in Nigerian Pentecostal churches.
Speaking on the Outside The Box podcast, he said doesn’t “believe in any miracles performed in any Pentecostal church.”
Freeze explained that while he respects pastors, he doubts the credibility of their miracles. “My IQ is 156. I would have to be pretty dumb to believe in miracles in Nigerian churches.”
He compared modern-day miracles to those in the Bible, pointing out that Jesus healed well-known people, like the blind beggar Bartimaeus and the woman with the issue of blood.
“Jesus performed verifiable miracles. Christ raised Lazarus from death and healed prominent individuals everyone knew,” he said, apparently querying why its always little-know people that are often claimants of religious miracles.
Public Figures and Lack of Miracles
Mr Freeze criticized Nigerian clerics, saying no miracles have been performed for public figures. He cited examples of prominent Nigerians like Dora Akunyili, who passed away from cancer despite being prayed for by pastors.
He also referred to the late actor John Okafor, known as Mr. Ibu. “Mr. Ibu’s condition worsened until he needed amputation. No one healed him, and later, he died. No miracle raised him.”
Daddy Freeze concluded his remarks with a challenge: “Don’t tell me you did miracles. I want proofs.”
What do you think of Daddy Freeze’s take on this issue?
