Former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), David Parradang, has been found dead in an Abuja hotel room. His sudden passing has caused speculation, but police have dismissed claims that he was kidnapped and murdered.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command confirmed his death, stating that he checked into Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, on March 3, 2025, around noon. He paid ₦22,000 for a one-night stay and was later visited by a female guest, who left the hotel by 4 p.m.
Police Investigate Circumstances of His Death
According to FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, Parradang did not exit his room after his guest left. Concerned about his well-being, a military officer friend traced him to the hotel around 4 a.m. on March 4, only to find him unresponsive in a chair. The hotel receptionist and police were immediately alerted.
“Officers from Durumi Police Station arrived at the scene, took photographs, and secured the area to preserve evidence,” Adeh stated. “His body has been transferred to the National Hospital, and hotel staff are cooperating with investigations.”
The police also warned against false reports circulating on social media that Parradang was kidnapped and killed.
“We urge the public to avoid spreading unverified information that could cause panic. A thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death,” Adeh added.
As Nigerians await official autopsy results, questions remain about the former NIS boss’s final hours.
