Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state has criticized the Federal Government’s economic policies, saying they cause severe hardship on the citizens.
He was speaking at the PDP meeting with North East governors and stakeholders in Bauchi on Thursday.
Fintiri expressed frustration with the economy, saying, “Nigeria is bleeding, we are suffering, there is too much anger, and the economic policy is not working.” He wants the Federal Government to reconsider several of their policies, counselling that governance should be based on trust and responsibility.
“The country belongs to us. It does not belong to the World Bank, IMF, or the international community,” he said.
The meeting was convened by the National Reconciliation Committee of the party formed to attempt to reconcile feuding blocs within the party.
PDP has been embroiled in leadership crisis traceable to the fallout of its presidential party primaries in 2022.
