A new exciting indigenous car brand, ROXETTES Motors, has launched in Nigeria, this time in Abia State, with its first manufacturing plant in Obu-Aku, in Ukwa West LGA.

The company offers a variety of vehicles, including electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid vehicles, and compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered cars.

The new brand appears to have taken the local car market by storm when it showcased its products recently at Okpara Square in Enugu.

Some of the brands on display were:

  • Blaze-X: An EV offering options for single or multiple passengers.
  • Aero-U75 Plus: A modern SUV focused on comfort and performance.
  • Surge-X: A luxury vehicle combining elegance with advanced technology.
  • Lumen-vx7: A luxury EV known for its sleek design.
  • Volta-X: A high-performance sports car that is environmentally friendly.

The ultramodern Roxettes plant at Obu-Aku can produce 40,000 automobiles per year, according to the founder and CEO Arc. Kaycee Orji. He explained the rationale behind the founding of the motor business. “The world is migrating to sustainable energy, and Nigeria cannot be left behind,” he said.

ROXETTES also has a CNG conversion plant to retrofit other fuel-powered vehicle brands. “We have CNG kits and cylinders for cleaner energy so that people can run on cheaper and cleaner energy,” Orji explained.

ROXETTES Motors showcased its products at Okpara Square on Saturday, November 23. Orji, like other global tech giant CEOs, was physically on the ground interacting with potential buyers and explaining the value of his products.

He explained the cost benefits of ROXETTES vehicles. Driving an EV can cost as little as N950 operational per day, compared to over N7,000 for traditional fuel vehicles. This makes ROXETTES cars at least 600% cheaper to run.

How Roxettes Came to Abia

Since its inception, ROXETTES Motors has quickly gained recognition for its high-quality and eco-friendly vehicles. The company already has over 1000 employees, nearly all locally trained technical staff.

Mr Orji is grateful to the administration of Dr. Alex Otti, governor of Abia State, who apparently incentivized the citing of the industry in Abia by giving them land.

Orji, said that the dream, which was hatched about a year and half ago, has now become a reality, due to the encouragement from Otti. He praised the governor for providing the enabling environment and fulfilling of every promise he made to him when he shared his dream of setting up a vehicle assembling plant in Nigeria.

Addressing the governor when he went to present one of the first finished products to the governor, Orji said, “I told you of my plans to have an assembly plant and you asked me to bring it to Abia. I am grateful to you, for the peaceful business atmosphere you have created in Abia. Everything you promised us, you have fulfilled’.

Supporting Nigeria’s Energy Transition

Orji says what sets ROXETTES apart is its commitment to sustainable transportation. The Eco-Drive Green Tech Metropolis in Obu-Aku City reflects their dedication to innovation and environmental responsibility.

Arc. Kaycee Orji is actually an architect by training, but moved by a passion and the vision to contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth by promoting sustainable transportation through ROXETTES Motors.

The breathtaking ROXETTES Motors, as attested to by car enthusiasts who test-drove the vehicles, is a shining example of what indigenous companies can achieve with vision, innovation, determination and government support.

As the company grows and expands its product line, it is likely to play a major role in Nigeria’s energy transition journey to cleaner energy. 70% of ROXETTES vehicles are either EV’s or CNG-powered.

We could not independently verify the cost of the cars, but ROXETTES Motors can be reached via their website by clicking the link.
