Real Madrid completed an incredible comeback against Borussia Dortmund, with Vinicius Junior standing out, scoring a hat-trick to plunge the Germans into despair. The match is a continuation of the season’s UEFA Championship games.
The match mirrored last season’s final, where Real won 2-0, thanks to goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr. This time, however, Real Madrid scored five unanswered second-half goals to overturn Dortmund’s early two-goal lead.

Lineups
Real Madrid: Courtois, Mendy, Rudiger, Militao, Vazquez, Bellingham, Modric (c), Valverde, Vinícius, Mbappe, Rodrygo.

Borussia Dortmund: Kobel, Bensebaini, Schlotterbeck, Sule, Ryerson, Nmecha, Sabitzer, Malen, Brandt (c), Gittens, Guirassy.
How the Match Unfolded
Dortmund entered the game having lost their last two matches and conceded seven goals, five of which came during their match against Stuttgart. In contrast, Madrid had won all their home games this season, only dropping points away, notably in their 1-0 loss to Lille in the Champions League.
The match began with Dortmund looking to exact revenge for their last encounter. Serhou Guirassy and Kylian Mbappe made the first attempts at the goal, with the Dortmund striker’s effort saved.
At the same time, Mbappe’s shot was deflected for a corner. Dortmund soon found the opener, with electric winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens holding up play and playing an inch-perfect pass to Donyell Malen, who slotted it home.
The duo combined again as Dortmund scored another, stunning Madrid at the Bernabeu. Malen ran into the box from the right wing and found Gittens, who scored Dortmund’s second of the night. Real Madrid almost responded as Jude Bellingham nodded the ball straight to Kobel following a cross from deep. Rodrygo and Bellingham hit the bar as Real tried to get into the game, but the half ended in Dortmund’s favor.

The home side started the second half with more intensity. They finally found one back when Kylian Mbappe’s cross was met by Antonio Rudiger, with the German center-back heading from close range to give Real a lifeline.
They made it two one minute later, as Mbappe’s shot was blocked by Kobel. The rebound found Vinicius Jr, who sent the ball into the net to pull Real level in the 61st minute.

Dortmund came close to retaking the lead, but Thibaut Courtois saved Maximilian Beier’s shot. Real Madrid then took control, with Lucas Vazquez scoring a superb solo effort after surging into Dortmund’s box. Vinicius Jr. added goals four and five to complete the comeback, with the fifth being a curling effort that left Kobel stretching.

It was an incredible comeback from the home side, and Vinicius Jr. won the Man of the Match award for his hat-trick, which sealed all three points for Real Madrid.
