Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has approved a work-from-home arrangement for civil servants to mitigate the impact of the current economic situation.
The new work schedule gives the government workers some flexibility. Officers on levels 01-07 will work three days a week, while those on levels 08-12 will work two days a week, and those on levels 13-17 will work once a week.
The new arrangement, effective from September 9, 2024, excludes essential workers like teachers, core health workers, and security personnel. Each ministry, department and agency (MDAs) must create a workable schedule to ensure effective service delivery.
The arrangement will last for two months and is subject to periodic review. It policy is without prejudice to other palliative measures by the state government, such as monthly wage awards and free bus services for workers and students.
The Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji-led administration said the work plan is evidence of its commitment to workers’ welfare and, while still enhancing productivity.
