Nigeria’s aviation sector is set for major advancement following a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and Boeing Corporation – the world’s leading aircraft manufacturer. The agreement, signed in Seattle, USA, involved key stakeholders from Nigeria’s aviation industry, including major airlines and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The MoU aims to modernize Nigerian airlines by facilitating the acquisition of new Boeing aircrafts and providing technical support for smooth integration. It includes comprehensive training in airline operations, access to Boeing’s maintenance documents, and leadership development programs. Boeing will also collaborate with Nigeria’s aviation authorities to boost safety and operational efficiency.
Keyamo hailed the partnership as a “milestone” toward modernizing Nigerian aviation.
“The benefits of this MoU will be far-reaching, not only in improving the operational efficiency of our airlines but also in ensuring the safety and reliability of air travel in Nigeria,” the minister said.
Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing, Anbessie Yitbarek, said his company was “excited to work closely with Nigeria’s aviation stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions that will help Nigerian airlines thrive in the competitive global aviation landscape.”
