Nigeria’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bolaji Akinyemi, has deemed Vice President, Kamala Harris a formidable opponent for Donald Trump in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
Akinyemi emphasized that Harris is not only a Vice President but also a former senator from the rich state of California and its erstwhile Attorney General, making her a hard nut for Trump to crack. He warned against underestimating Harris. “She will use you to wipe the floor”, he warned Harris’s potential opponent.
Akinyemi also praised Harris’s approach following her endorsement by President Joe Biden noting that she has not put on any sense of triumphalism since then.
Asked if he could bet on the outcome of the election in November, if it turns out to between Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, the quintessential diplomat said, “If I’m to put my money on it, I will put my money on Harris to win the presidential election, despite the fact that she has been brought in as the head of the ticket on short notice.”
If Kamala Harris wins the election, she will be the first female president in the nearly three centuries of American democracy.
