Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti has expressed his support for the proposed New Abia Smart City project, stating that his administration will partner with any serious investor to achieve the project.
This was discussed during a business meeting with a delegation from The African Rebirth Vision International (TARVi), a company that builds trade, finance, and investment bridges across Africa. The Governor emphasized the importance of launching Abia into a digital economy and expressed interest in exploring the company’s building technology.
“I am quite pleased to learn about this vision – Abia Smart City, which ties very well with our vision.”
The Governor also praised the company for its innovative approach to project delivery, which he believes will significantly contribute to the success of the Smart City project.
“I am also amazed to hear about your building technology. You said you can deliver homes in two to three weeks. That is amazing, and we would like to explore it.”

The delegation to the governor was led by African Rebirth Vision’s president/Founder, Engr. Chuka Nwokoro. It included the President of Smartmatic, Dr. Khodr Akil, and a development partner from the US, Terra Dlier, among others.
They highlighted Abia’s economic status as one of Nigeria’s wealthiest states due to its numerous mineral deposits and commercial prowess. African Rebirth Vision claims it has conducted a detailed survey of available resources in the state and believes its company, which built the Sam Mbakwe Airport 34 years ago, has all the necessary resources to deliver a new Smart City for Abia.
Engr. Nwokoro said this company is partnering with leading companies worldwide to deliver on the project.

However, the African Rebirth Vision International (TARVi) is not the first to envision a smart city project in Abia State. Enyimba Economic City was a pet project of the last administrations of Theodore Orji and Okezie Ikpeazu. Abians have waited in vain for nearly two decades for the project to move from the drawing board to a budding smart city.
