President Joe Biden has excused his subpar performance during the first of three presidential debate with former President Donald Trump on jet lag.
The 81-year-old President admitted at a campaign rally that he “wasn’t very smart” during the debate. He said recent travels took a toll on him and “I didn’t listen to my staff” regarding suggestions to scale down his travels prior to the debate. He acknowledged, almost humorously, that he “fell asleep on stage” during the debate.
Biden hid the fact that he took several days of prepping for the debate at Camp David, after his recent travels.

Democrats Worried
There has been unease in the Biden campaign with some Democrats openly calling for Biden to quit the race. White House tried to downplay Biden’s performance as a brief slip-up, but he was noticeably very incoherent in his responses during the debate.
Nevertheless, Biden in the campaign speech did not signal that he was tired. In the coming days, he’ll meet with congressional leaders and Democratic governors, participate in a network TV interview, and hold a press conference. The busy schedule, all intended to rebuff any misgivings about his mental and physical health.
White House Defends Biden
White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the president has no intention of withdrawing, saying it was just “a bad night”.

Bur former House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi said that concerns about Biden in the race was “a legitimate question.”
“When people ask that question, it’s legitimate — of both candidates,” she said, but falling short of asking the president to step aside, if she categorized him in the same place as Trump.

Wow! How vcan he blame jeg lag for his weak debate. The issue is that for a long time he has been in his own world. There is no way he can beat Trump in a debate.
