A musical group in northern Nigeria have released a heartfelt song in admiration and praise for the esteemed Chancellor of Maduka University, Enugu State, and CEO of Peace Mass Transit – Dr Sam Maduka Onyishi. In their lyrical tribute, they depict him as a mentor, hero, and exemple of honesty.
The song hails Dr. Maduka’s status as a unifying figure, a detribalized person, of no religious prejudices and with boundless generosity. The song, now trending in northern Nigeria and beyond, celebrates Onyishi as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the generation of youths in Africa.

The music was sang in the Hausa language and loosely translates as follows: “Your good behaviour does not hide. You are a person who fulfils promises. Helping the poor and orphans is your responsibility. I have not seen a kind person like you. A great hero is a worthy person. It’s a blessing to have someone like you. You are a father to the masses. Your kind of help makes people happy.”
This musical homage is an attempt to acknowledge Dr. Maduka’s spirit and generosity. Through his philanthropic outreach – The Sam Maduka Onyishi Foundation, he grants scholarships, healthcare support, and other forms of aid to vulnerable persons and communities throughout Nigeria.
Dr Maduka’s passionate belief in youth empowerment drives him to support youth initiatives on education, entrepreneurship, and leadership. His contributions to business and philanthropy have garnered widespread recognition, earning him many awards and honours.
In 2012, he was bestowed with the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) national honour by the Nigerian government of President Goodluck Jonathan.
He also received other national and international recognition for his commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development.
He was born in Nsukka, Enugu State, in November 1963 and is reputed as one of the shining examples of successful business moguls in Nigeria.
