POEM: “My Once Friend”

That person is my lover.
Ever so strong, straight forward,
Brutally honest and doesn’t cower.
Smells really nice,
Much sweeter than any flower.
Proud, strong narcissist,
That can be vile within an hour.

A harmless beautiful peacock is the illusion,
But more of a green mamba with vicious power.
Psychologist in the making and practicing,
Astonished by this, so I stutter.
Inside that place filled with hatches,
There is love, joy, happiness,
And a child faced with so much to even wonder.

Trust is as thin as the air,
Breathe too much, you breathe in everything,
Breathe less, the you lose everything to the wind.
Somehow the person understands me a little,
And that’s what some see as riding wild blue yonder.
Shown the world to me in an entirely different light,
Enduring my excesses,
And changing my way of thinking slightly.
Giving me sincerest raw emotions that are so tender,
And delicate I never knew from that gender.

My empress, my distraction, my drug and my friend,
Ah! My mathematician.
It’s a shame our spark disconnected,
At least I can boast to people about my once friend,
And joy giver.
I do miss the realistic-ness of the person,
While I talked about my elusive ideas and dreams.
Didn’t see this coming,
It hurt really bad to lose such a dear,
At least my time of knowing the person,
Acts like a pain reliever.

The person came and went,
I only have one crime against.
You came empty handed,
Why then leave?
Leaving a big ditch with me to drown in my sorrow?
Isn’t that plunder?

A bomb to the world,
A mystery to the wise,
A wrecking ball to science,
That’s how the entrance of this person has,
And will continue to be.
Showing love to everyone,
So then called a lover.

A nerve wrecking scientific breakthrough,
Like a cure for diseases,
Brain puzzling to those who try to fathom
The successes of my friend,
Who keeps on rising higher.
Raising the bar higher,
While others sit idly being haters,
Or better yet, painting the person a sinner.

My little advice which will fall on deaf ears,
Remember who was there with you,
Building you and who really stuck to you.
But just know for sure you are a winner.
