Political leaders, activists, and young professionals from Nigeria’s North Central zone have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.

The endorsement was announced by the North Central Rainbow Network (NCRN) after a meeting in Abuja. The group also named Honourable Leke Abejide, House of Representatives member for Yagba Federal Constituency, as its Grand Patron.

NCRN said its membership cuts across major political parties, making the decision broad-based and not tied to partisan interests.

National Coordinator John Alli Oriri said “President Tinubu has demonstrated uncommon courage in confronting the twin challenges of insecurity and underdevelopment in our region.”

He pointed to ongoing military operations against terrorists and bandits, as well as new military formations established in the North Central.

The group praised the administration’s increased defence allocations and recruitment of additional security personnel under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Infrastructure Projects Across The Region

NCRN also commended the Federal Government for road projects in the zone. It cited the dualisation and rehabilitation of the Gwagwalada-Lokoja Road and work on the Lafia-Makurdi-Otukpo-Enugu corridor.

According to the group, 61 road projects are currently being executed across North Central states, with several completed and others ongoing.

It said the projects have improved connectivity between commercial centres and helped farmers move produce from Benue, Nasarawa, Kogi, and Plateau.

On Abejide’s appointment, Oriri said “Honourable Leke Abejide has been a consistent and selfless partner in this journey.”

He praised Abejide’s empowerment programmes, scholarships, community projects, and youth initiatives. NCRN said naming him Grand Patron recognised both his legislative contributions and his practical commitment to regional development.

Mobilisation For 2027 Campaign

The Network pledged to mobilise members and affiliates across the North Central to campaign for Tinubu’s re-election.

It said the endorsement was based on an assessment of the administration’s performance, not political convenience.

Oriri concluded: “We stand with President Tinubu because the evidence of progress is clear. And we stand with Honourable Abejide because he has stood with our people.”

The group expressed optimism that a second term would allow completion of ongoing projects and further strengthen security.
