The National Examinations Council has warned the public about a fake online recruitment portal for examination supervisors.
In a statement issued in Minna on Tuesday, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mallam Azeez Sani, said NECO is not using any fake site to recruit supervisors for its exams.
Azeez said the council no longer uses an analogue system for recruiting supervisors and assistant supervisors.
He said the process has now been fully automated, following recommendations of the Ministerial Committee on the Improvement of Quality of Examination in Nigeria.
“NECO wishes to alert members of the public to the existence of fake online portals for the recruitment of examination supervisors.”
“The fake portals had requested interested members of the public to log on with the details of their academic credentials after making some payments.”
“NECO wishes to inform the public that the Council does not request for any payment from teachers applying to serve as examination supervisors in the forthcoming 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal.”
He said qualified pensionable teachers on Grade Level 12 and above, who are at least 30 years old, should apply only through the official NECO portal at https://supervisor.neco.gov.ng.
“It should be noted that the supervisor recruitment on the NECO website is fully automated, and no third party is required.”
NECO Says New System Blocks Fraud
NECO said the new process is designed to prevent fraud, stop examination malpractice, and improve fairness in recruitment.
The council also said no fewer than 22,000 supervisors will be recruited for the 2026 SSCE Internal.
The examination is scheduled to begin on 15 June 2026.
The council advised members of the public to ignore any other portal and use only the official NECO website for applications.
