Nigerian music superstar Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for FIFA’s World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles.
FIFA announced on Tuesday that Davido will join Major Lazer, the music project led by Diplo, for the June 10 event at the Crypto.com Arena.
“Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture.”
The concert is part of FIFA’s first synchronised live entertainment series spanning the three host nations of the 2026 World Cup: Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Additional performers are expected to be unveiled in the coming days.
The Los Angeles show will be staged at the Crypto.com Arena, with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. PT and the live broadcast beginning an hour later.
The concert series is designed to connect audiences across the three host countries through simultaneous performances.
Fans will also be able to watch live acts streamed from Mexico City and Toronto.
“The Countdown Concert series celebrates the passion, unity and cultural connections across three countries and around the world that define the FIFA World Cup 2026.”
Manolo Zubiria, a senior FIFA official, said the event will bring together music, football and fans in a global celebration.
“Just two days before the opening match in the United States, Los Angeles will put on an unforgettable show featuring top talent in one of the world’s premier entertainment capitals, bringing together music, football and fans in a global celebration as we prepare to welcome the world.”
Ticket Sales And Global Streaming
FIFA said ticket sales will open on June 3 at 10:00 a.m. PST.
The event will be streamed worldwide across FIFA’s digital platforms, including an exclusive social media livestream on TikTok.
Fans will also be able to watch the full concert and behind-the-scenes footage on VuMe Live the following day.
Davido, whose real name is David Adedeji Adeleke, is one of Africa’s most awarded and internationally recognised musicians.
He has sold out arenas in Europe and the United States and has collaborated with major global artists.
His appearance at the Countdown Concert marks another major international stage for the Nigerian star.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States, with the opening match scheduled two days after the Los Angeles concert.
This event sets the tone for a year-long cultural and sporting celebration leading into the tournament.
