The White House has released details of President Donald Trump’s latest medical exam, confirming he is in strong health while advising lifestyle changes.
The report followed Trump’s physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland in May 2026.
According to White House physician Sean Barbabella, the 79-year-old president remains capable of performing his duties.
“President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical function,” Barbabella wrote.
“Cognitive and physical performance are excellent. He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
The exam forms part of routine checks carried out on US presidents, especially given Trump’s age as the oldest person sworn into office.
Barbabella recorded Trump’s height at 6 feet 3 inches (190.5 cm) and weight at 238 pounds (108 kg).
This reflects an increase from 224 pounds (101 kg) recorded during his previous physical in April 2025.
Doctor Recommends Lifestyle Changes
Despite the positive assessment, the physician advised steps to improve long-term health.
“Preventive counselling was provided,” Barbabella wrote.
“Including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity and continued weight loss.”
The advice aligns with standard preventive care for cardiovascular health, particularly for older adults.
Trump has previously faced scrutiny over his diet and exercise habits, making such recommendations a recurring feature of his health reports.
Routine Checks And Public Transparency
The visit to Walter Reed marked Trump’s third medical evaluation there since returning to office in 2025.
Ahead of the appointment, the White House said the visit would include routine dental and medical assessments.
For context, US presidents often release summaries of their health to reassure the public about their fitness for office.
Shortly after the exam, Trump shared a brief update on his Truth Social platform.
“Everything checked out”
The White House continues to frame the president’s health disclosures as part of transparency efforts tied to public accountability.
