Jigawa APC Concludes House of Reps Primaries Via Consensus

The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its House of Representatives primary elections across all twenty-seven local government areas.

The critical internal party exercise produced eight candidates through strategic consensus tracks, while four aspirants won their tickets via direct contests.

Local party officials reported that the voting exercises were entirely peaceful and hitch-free ahead of the anticipated 2027 general elections.

Furthermore, massive numbers of dedicated party members turned out at various designated venues to select their preferred legislative flagbearers.

This smooth process follows a recent strategic decision by regional elders to adopt consensus measures to preserve political stability within the state.

Early internal selections help major political parties avoid costly post-primary litigations.

The ruling national party wants to shield its legislative majority and secure its key traditional strongholds across the northern frontiers.

Consensus Outcomes Across Federal Constituencies

Several political figures emerged unopposed through this newly adopted consensus party framework.

Tasiu Ishaq Adamu secured the ticket for Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency, while Suleiman Dau Aliyu won the slot for Birnin Kudu/Buji.

Meanwhile, Hon. Rabiu Mukhtar picked the ticket for Garki/Babura, and Hon. Shitu Galambi secured his victory for the Gwaram zone.

Other consensus candidates include Hon. Abubakar Makki Yanleman for Malam Madori/Kaugama and Hon. Umar Imam for Miga/Jahun.

Additionally, Hon. Abubakar Hassan Fulata claimed the party ticket for the strategic Birniwa/Guri/Kirikasamma Federal Constituency.

In contrast, four federal constituencies required direct voting exercises to determine their official general election representatives.

Yushau Muhammad won in Ringim/Taura, while Hon. Nazifi Sani emerged victorious for Gumel/Gagarawa/Sule Tankarkar/Maigatari.

Alhaji Zakari Santuraki secured the Kazaure/Roni/Gwiwa/Yankwashi ticket after defeating his rivals in a keen race.

Finally, Aliyu Usaini Jabo clinched the final ticket for the Hadejia/Auyo/Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency during the same exercise.

Democratic Unity And Party Consolidation

Speaking immediately after the exercise, the Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, was satisfied with the peaceful conduct of all party members.

The governor revealed that about 90% of the party positions in the state were successfully resolved through the amicable consensus path.

He described the development as a clear sign of absolute unity and political maturity within the ruling state political structure.

Reacting to the development, the Jigawa APC Chairman, Ahmed Maikudi, commended the members and critical stakeholders for their orderliness.

He attributed the smooth conduct to deep cooperation among leaders and the constant logistical support from the state administration.

The chairman was optimistic that the political organization would perform strongly across all levels during the 2027 polls.
