The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the names of the highest-scoring candidates for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
Registrar of the board, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, unveiled the list on Monday, May 11, 2026, during the annual Policy Meeting on Admissions held in Abuja.
Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin, an indigene of Ekiti State, emerged as the overall best candidate nationwide. She recorded an impressive score of 372 out of 400.

Jesudunsin applied to study Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). Her achievement places her at the pinnacle of over 1.9 million candidates.
Enwere Kingsley Ikenna from Imo State secured the second position with a score of 370. He intends to study Computer Science at Nile University of Nigeria.
STEM Dominates 2026 UTME Top Performers List
The 2026 results show a significant preference for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses among the nation’s brightest young minds.
Bamisile Ayomide Emmanuel took the third spot with 369 points. Meanwhile, five candidates tied for the fourth position with scores of 368 across various engineering disciplines.

The list of high achievers scoring 368 includes:
- Olabiyisi Olanrewaju Oluwatimileyin (Oyo): Mechatronics Engineering at Pan-Atlantic University.
- Victor-Onyeka Daniel Ifeanyi (Imo): Electrical/Electronics Engineering at UNIPORT.
- Osagiobare Daniel Osahenrumwen (Edo): Mechanical Engineering at UNIBEN.
- Ademiluyi Adebowale Anthony (Osun): Computer Engineering at OAU.
- Azuike Kenechukwu Anthony (Anambra): Software Engineering at Afe Babalola University (ABUAD).
Furthermore, three students shared the final spots on the top list with 367 points. They are:
- Offorkile Michael Okechukwu (Abia): Computer Science.
- Adebisi Eniola Sonari (Ogun): Computer Science at Covenant University.
- Umukoro Gift Orhenevovwero (Delta): Electrical/Electronics Engineering at UNILAG.
The Federal Ministry of Education uses these results to set national admission standards. This ensures that the most qualified students gain entry into competitive programmes.
Moreover, this yearly ranking often serves as a gateway for several of these high achievers to secure full academic scholarships from both private and public foundations.
