Gov. Aiyedatiwa Declares Tinubu Will All 36 States in 2027 Election

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election across all 36 states of Nigeria, describing such a feat as unprecedented in the nation’s political history.

Speaking on Wednesday at the inauguration of SWAGA 2.0—a pro‑Tinubu political group known as the South West Agenda for Asiwaju—in Akure, Aiyedatiwa said no opposition could stop the President’s second‑term bid.

“The economy was on the verge of collapse when Tinubu came on board. It was almost collapsing at a time when crude oil was being used to borrow money and naira was being printed,” Aiyedatiwa said.

“So, the work will be easier now for SWAGA, especially with what we have seen in the political space in Nigeria. As it is now, Tinubu may be the first president to win all 36 states,” he added.

SWAGA Leaders Praise Tinubu’s Governance

The South West Agenda for Asiwaju is led by Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority. Adeyeye told supporters that Tinubu’s governance since 2023 had salvaged the economy.

“Asiwaju came at the right moment; we were at a precipice, and he pulled us back to the path of development,” Adeyeye said.

“Let us imagine what would have happened if he was not President today. Nigeria would have gone backwards if he had not taken bold decisions,” he added.

Adeyeye pointed to the resolution of university strikes as evidence of Tinubu’s performance. “Before, we had incessant ASUU strikes, but now it is a thing of the past. Today, all their issues have been resolved,” he said.

Political Momentum Ahead Of 2027

Convener of SWAGA, Oyetunde Ojo, a former House of Representatives member from Ekiti State, said the group had returned to campaign for Tinubu’s re‑election.

“This is a man who has done a lot, and that is why we are coming out to ask Nigerians to assess his performance,” Ojo said.

He added: “You can see governors defecting. Did anyone force them? No. Those who did not believe in him before now say they trust him and are joining our party.”

Ojo also recalled the support of traditional rulers. “We have visited the Deji of Akure, one of the first traditional rulers who supported us about three and a half years ago and said Tinubu would become President,” he said.
