Afrobeats singer, Omah Stanley Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has shared his thoughts on relationship dynamics in the Nigerian music industry, saying that the industry is full of ego.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Nando Leaks podcast, the singer described himself as having a “weird” personality and doesn’t seek external validation, which makes him comfortable with having a small circle.

According to him, the only friends he has are those who truly understand him and his journey.

He noted that although he is a quiet person, he has a large ego.

“I have a very weird personality, I believe I am just that guy, so I don’t have a lot of friends. I don’t talk to a lot of people, just very few people and those people are people who try to come into my world and understand where I am going.”

The Nigerian music scene is full of egos. I am a chill guy but I have too much ego. It is hard to make friends like that,” Omah Lay said.

The singer added that he tries to be humble sometimes because he believes too much ego can slow down a person’s growth.
