Teenage track star Diana Eze has officially switched her international allegiance from South Africa to Nigeria. The 19-year-old sprinter confirmed the decision this week in Abuja.
She is now set to represent her father’s homeland at the 2026 World Athletics Championships.
Eze was born in Johannesburg to a Nigerian father and a South African mother. She has spent her entire amateur career rising through the ranks of the South African school sports system.
Recently, she clocked a stunning 10.92 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) successfully cleared her paperwork with World Athletics.

They noted that the paperwork was processed quickly to ensure she could begin training with the national camp immediately.
Eze will now compete in the upcoming Nigerian National Trials. This event will serve as her official debut on Nigerian soil.
