Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told a congressional committee Thursday that she has no new information about Jeffrey Epstein and does not recall ever meeting him.
In her opening statement, Clinton said, “Let me be as clear as I can: I do not.”
She explained that the panel subpoenaed her based on the assumption she had information about Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, but she denied any knowledge.
The Republican-led House Oversight Committee interviewed Clinton behind closed doors in Chappaqua, New York.
She later posted on social media, “I had no idea about their criminal activities. I never flew on his plane or visited his island home or office.”
Committee Chair James Comer said the panel was not satisfied with all her answers.
Former President Bill Clinton, who had ties to Epstein in the early 2000s, is scheduled to testify on Friday.
Hillary Clinton said she is confident her husband knew nothing about Epstein’s crimes.
She also called on lawmakers to compel Donald Trump to testify, saying, “If this committee is serious about learning the truth about Epstein’s trafficking crimes … it would ask [Trump] directly under oath.”
The Justice Department has released more than three million pages of Epstein-related documents under the Epstein Files Transparency Act passed in 2025.
