Samsung has unveiled its latest Galaxy S26 smartphones, featuring expanded artificial intelligence tools and a new privacy shield mode designed to block onlookers from viewing the display.
The Galaxy S26 lineup will be available in stores on March 11. Prices for the standard and Plus models have risen by 10% to 13%, with the S26 priced at $899 and the S26 Plus at $1,099. The Ultra remains at $1,299, the same as last year.
Samsung has upgraded the camera and battery across the lineup, while introducing a standout feature exclusive to the Ultra called Privacy Display.
When activated, the screen can only be viewed directly from the front, appearing blank from the side. Users can set sensitive apps, such as financial services, to always open in privacy mode.
Analyst Paolo Pescatore described Privacy Display as “the sleeper hit, a standout feature in a sea of AI noise.”
Samsung continues to emphasize AI as central to its devices. TM Roh, CEO of device experience, said, “AI must become part of our infrastructure. You should be able to enjoy its benefits through the devices you use every day.”
The company is integrating Google’s Gemini technology and adding Perplexity’s answer engine as another assistant option.
The phones also include new photo-editing tools, such as automatic skin-tone softening in selfies.
Despite AI’s growing role, analysts note consumers remain cautious, with Apple still leading global smartphone sales.
