Governor Alex Otti has initiated measures to harmonise data management systems across ministries, departments and agencies in Abia State, as part of efforts to strengthen administrative coordination and improve service delivery
The initiative aims to integrate fragmented government databases into a unified structure to enhance accuracy, transparency and operational efficiency within the state’s public sector.
According to government officials, the harmonisation process will standardise data collection and storage procedures across agencies, enabling real-time access to verified information for planning, budgeting and policy implementation.
The reform is also expected to reduce duplication of records, improve inter-agency communication and support evidence-based decision-making.
State authorities indicated that technical teams have been tasked with reviewing existing digital infrastructure and recommending frameworks for integration.
The move forms part of the administration’s broader governance reform strategy focused on modernising public administration systems.

which parts of the ministries/agencies will be incorporated in the database? while a bold move, which I commend but a very tasking one because there are lots of Nigerians who I doubt are even in the government database.
