Popular Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, known as Falz, has accused the Federal Government of failing to act decisively after the deadly attack in Kwara State.
In a video shared on Instagram, Falz expressed anger that leaders are focused on the 2027 elections while citizens continue to face violent attacks.
“People are being killed every day, but the government is busy setting up structures for 2027,” he said.
The attack on Woro and Nuku villages in Kaiama Local Government Area occurred on February 3, 2026.
According to the Red Cross, at least 162 people were killed. Reports say the assailants went house to house after residents rejected demands to adopt their version of Sharia law.
Falz criticised the government’s response, saying it appeared limited to official statements
“I thought nearly 200 people were killed in Kwara. The President released a statement saying he was saddened. Who has been arrested? Who has been prosecuted? Nobody. We just move on,” he said.
Although President Bola Tinubu ordered the deployment of an army battalion under Operation Savannah Shield and condemned the killings, Falz argued that these measures were not enough.
Political and Religious Silence
Falz also accused political parties of prioritising campaign activities, including appointing regional coordinators, despite the fact that official campaigning is not expected until closer to the election period.
He criticised some religious leaders for staying silent on national issues, including the Senate’s rejection of a proposal to mandate real-time electronic transmission of election results.
According to him, allowing politicians to use religious platforms without addressing governance and accountability worsens Nigeria’s leadership problems.
“Relying solely on prayers without concrete action has not solved Nigeria’s security challenges,” he added.
Falz wants Nigerians to demand accountability more rather than accept the whatever the status quo throws at them.
He said citizens must push back against leaders who prioritize politics over safety.
