The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has released the schedule for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) 34/2025 enlistment interview, marking the next stage of its recruitment process.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Sunday, the NAF confirmed that the list of shortlisted candidates has been uploaded to the recruitment portal at nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng (nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng in Bing)
โSuccessful candidates are hereby invited to attend the DSSC 34 Enlistment Interview, scheduled to hold at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Kaduna, from 12 January to 8 February 2026,โ the statement read.
According to the Air Force, candidates will be interviewed in batches, following the timetable published on the portal. Applicants are advised to carefully read and comply with all instructions provided.
Failure to report on the assigned date or adhere to the guidelines may result in disqualification.
Candidates are also encouraged to familiarise themselves with information on the portal, including guidance for prospective officers and the Armed Forces of Nigeriaโs harmonised terms and conditions of service.
Recruitment Background
The DSSC 34 shortlist follows the NAFโs earlier recruitment exercise, which opened between October 14 and November 25, 2025. The programme targets Nigerian graduates and professionals seeking to join the Air Force as commissioned officers.
The Kaduna interview phase, running from January 12 to February 8, 2026, represents a crucial step toward commissioning successful applicants.
The announcement is part of attempts at reinvigorating Nigeriaโs armed forces.
In December 2025, the Nigerian Navy inducted 1,962 newly trained ratings at the Batch 37 Passing Out Parade in Onne, Rivers State.
Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Adm. Idi Abbas, said the recruits would be deployed to warships and operational units to combat oil theft, enhance maritime security, and support counterโinsurgency missions nationwide.
Together, these initiatives reflect governmentโs coordinated push to strengthen the military through recruitment, training, and professional commissioning.
