The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, to investigate multiple sexual allegations against the Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor.
The order follows growing outrage over viral claims circulating on social media in recent weeks.
Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the directive on Sunday.
The Punch Online claimed Adebisi confirmed to it that “The CP has directed the SCID to invite the pastor for investigation, despite the fact that no one has formally come forward to report.”
She added: “The CP also ordered that witnesses be brought forward to provide statements that would assist the investigation.”
Adebisi disclosed that she had personally contacted one of the YouTubers who interviewed alleged victims to obtain direct links to witnesses.
The cleric stepped down from pastoral duties on New Year’s Day, after several women—including Nollywood actress Doris Ogala—came forward with allegations.

During a church service last Sunday, Okafor knelt on the pulpit and publicly apologised to Ogala. “I admit to past mistakes and I seek forgiveness,” he said.
The scandal burst open after his wedding to a new bride, identified as Pearl, on December 16, 2025, an event attended by prominent clerics.
Ogala’s Allegations
Ogala first raised the alarm on December 14, posting emotional videos on Instagram. She claimed she had a nine‑year sexual relationship with Okafor beginning in 2017.
“He promised me marriage several times, but instead married another woman in December 2025,” she alleged.
She further accused the pastor of sharing her explicit photos and videos, contributing to the breakdown of her previous marriage, and causing emotional and financial distress.
Ogala also claimed Okafor offered her $10,000 to retract her statements and blame a rival pastor.

Through her lawyers, she later demanded ₦1 billion in damages, alleging threats and intimidation after her arrest and detention by police.
Following Ogala’s revelations, other women came forward with similar claims of sexual misconduct, manipulation, and infidelity.
Okafor’s former wife, Bessem Okafor, divorced on the basis of her alleged infidelity, turned around to accuse him of deception, infidelity too, and physical assault.
Despite the mounting allegations, several members of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries dismissed the allegations intoto.
“These are desperate attempts by individuals seeking to extort money from our man of God,” one member said.
The SCID is now expected to summon both the pastor and alleged victims for questioning as the scandal continues to unfold.
