The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced nationwide sales of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at a pump price of ₦739 per litre, available across all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations.
With over 2,000 outlets nationwide, the initiative is expected to deliver broad relief to consumers and stabilise the downstream petroleum market.
In a statement, the refinery commended marketers who have embraced the new pricing regime and urged others to follow suit in the interest of national economic recovery.
The company emphasised that the intervention was designed to counter festive‑season scarcity, backed by a guaranteed daily supply of 50 million litres.
Industry analysts say the move reduces Nigeria’s exposure to volatile global markets, conserves foreign exchange, stabilises the naira, and strengthens energy security.
The refinery warned against attempts by “unscrupulous operators” to create artificial scarcity, urging regulators to act decisively.
Consumers were advised to report any MRS station selling above ₦739 per litre via 0800‑123‑5264.
Lower Prices, Inclusive Supply Chain Drive Market Response
The refinery has also announced a further reduction in gantry prices to ₦699 per litre, alongside a drastic cut in the minimum purchase requirement from 2 million litres to 250,000 litres.
To support marketers, a 10‑day bank guarantee system has been introduced, ensuring uninterrupted supply.
Since the announcement, response has been overwhelming, with over 1,000 trucks loading PMS daily. Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote said the goal is to make energy affordable and accessible for every Nigerian, empowering both large and small marketers to participate.

The refinery’s inclusive approach opens the market to smaller operators, strengthens distribution networks, and improves availability nationwide.
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has pledged full support, urging members to patronise Dangote Refinery products.
IPMAN President Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi assured that with the refinery’s supply, controlling over 80% of the PMS retail market, there will be no gap or scarcity in fuel distribution.
