Popular Nigerian comedian and social media personality, Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, widely known as Sabinus or Mr Funny, has confirmed that his marriage to UK-based Ciana Chapman has ended.
The couple, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2023 and welcomed a daughter together, had faced persistent rumours throughout 2024 of domestic violence, infidelity, and Sabinus being an absentee father.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session alongside fellow comedian Carter Efe, Sabinus addressed the speculation directly.
“I’m not married. Let me clear the air for those spreading rumours – I am not married. My marriage ended peacefully. The mum and I are still good, no issues. My daughter is fine and doing very well,” he said.
He said the separation was amicable and urged fans to respect their privacy, stressing that negative narratives surrounding the breakup should be put to rest.
As of now, neither Sabinus nor Ciana Chapman has issued more detailed update on the matter beyond the comedian’s clarification.
The announcement is the first time Sabinus has spoken openly about the matter, bringing closure to months of speculation.
