Rev. Dachomo Warns of Jihadist’s Plot to Disrupt Christmas Festivities

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo has raised alarm over intelligence reports that extremist groups in Plateau State are collecting funds to purchase weapons for attacks aimed at disrupting Christmas celebrations.

Speaking at the Glory Dome in Abuja, the cleric claimed women were contributing ₦100,000 each and men ₦200,000, money allegedly being pooled to finance a planned “jihad” against Christian communities.

“They have vowed we will not spend our Christmas this year. They say we will run with rice in our hands because they are ready for Jihad,” Dachomo declared. He provided no evidence nor explanation how he got the intel and if he has shared it with authorities.

However, he urged residents to turn to prayer as their strongest defense. “Your prayer is more than AK-47. It’s more than rocket launchers. Let’s launch our prayers to heaven,” he said.

Dachomo commended Dr. Paul Enenche for consistently speaking out against killings and offering spiritual guidance to affected communities, including Ganarop in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

“Christians must be safe. There is a genocide in Nigeria. Pray for us in Jesus’ name,” he appealed.

Plateau State has long been a flashpoint of communal and religious violence, with recurring attacks leaving many dead, displaced, and fearful, especially during festive seasons.

Authorities and church leaders are calling for heightened vigilance and collective prayers as Christmas approaches.
