Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Ibrahim Gusau, has expressed strong confidence that the Super Eagles will perform at their peak during the fifa-world-cup/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs.
Speaking to the official NFF website, Gusau said, “Everything is being done, by the NSC and the NFF, to see that nothing is left to chance. No stone will be left unturned.”
He believes the team will be fuelled by a unique motivation, recalling the spirit that helped Nigeria score the four crucial goals against Bénin Republic in the final qualifier.

“That special spirit… will propel the team to victory in the play-offs,” he added.
Gusau also outlined the team’s preparations. The camp will open in Rabat, Morocco, on Sunday, 9th November.
“We are speaking to the players already and everyone is on the same page. Every preparation needed to see the team soar to victory will be made,” he said, adding that the players are driven by the dream of featuring at the FIFA World Cup finals.


The Super Eagles will face the Panthers of Gabon in the playoffs. The matches are expected to be held in Rabat at either the 18,000-capacity El-Barid Stadium or the 22,000-capacity Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex.
The playoff final is scheduled for Stade Prince Heritier Moulay El Hassan. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will conduct a draw on Thursday, 30th October, to determine which semi-final matches will take place at each venue.
