Zenith Bank Plc has announced the payment of an interim dividend totalling ₦51.3 billion for the first half of 2025 — translating to ₦1.25 per share.
The payout, made on Friday, October 10, marks a 60% rise from the ₦31.4 billion declared in the same period of 2024, underscoring the bank’s solid performance and consistent value creation for shareholders despite Nigeria’s challenging economic climate.
The dividend follows the release of Zenith Bank’s audited half-year results for the period ending June 30, 2025, which showed strong growth across key financial indicators.
Robust Performance and Shareholder Confidence
Group Managing Director and CEO, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, described the dividend as a reflection of the bank’s resilience and long-term strategy.
“We are pleased to have paid this significant interim dividend to our valued shareholders. Our half-year results underscore our resilience and commitment to our stakeholders. Based on the momentum achieved in H1, we are confident in our full-year outlook and expect to exceed shareholders’ expectations by year-end,” she said.
The bank’s gross earnings surged by 20% year-on-year to ₦2.5 trillion from ₦2.1 trillion, driven largely by a 60% increase in interest income — from ₦1.1 trillion to ₦1.8 trillion — achieved through strategic repricing of risk assets and effective treasury management.
Total assets expanded to ₦31 trillion by June 2025, up from ₦30 trillion in December 2024, reflecting a robust balance sheet. Deposits also grew by 7% to ₦23 trillion, indicating sustained customer confidence.
Zenith Bank’s impressive track record continues to earn global acclaim. It also won “Nigeria’s Best Bank” at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2025.
